Paerson wins and Kostelic grabs slalom cup
LEVI, Finland (Reuters) - Olympic champion Anja Paerson won
the penultimate women's slalom of the Alpine ski season on
Saturday and Croatia's Janica Kostelic clinched the event's
World Cup title thanks to her second place. Skiing in clear
weather and good conditions after snowstorms on the previous
day, the Swede finished with a total time of one minute 38.86
seconds, 0.29 seconds ahead of Kostelic.

| Kostelic leads final women's slalom
ARE, Sweden (Reuters) - Janica Kostelic led Olympic
champion and local favorite Anja Paerson by 0.13 seconds after
the first leg of the women's slalom at the World Cup finals on
Friday. The Croatian, who has already clinched the slalom title
as well as the overall Cup, ran through the course in 52.18
seconds.
